Our Story
More than a facility — a family
Sereno began when our founders experienced firsthand the difficult decision of finding care for aging parents. They visited facility after facility — and were struck by how clinical and impersonal most felt. The fluorescent lights, the institutional corridors, the sense that residents were patients rather than people.
They envisioned something different: a place that combined the clinical rigor of a top medical facility with the warmth of a beloved family home. A place where the gardens are tended by residents who love to garden. Where the dining room feels like a dinner party, not a cafeteria. Where every staff member knows every resident by name.
That vision became Sereno — from the Italian word for “serene.” With a capacity of 90 residents across three levels of care, we maintain the intimate, family-like atmosphere that makes Sereno unlike anywhere else. Our 5:1 resident-to-staff ratio (compared to the 8:1 to 12:1 industry average) ensures that no one is ever just a number.
